Patricia Ann Kloewer
January 20, 1934 — March 23, 2018
Patricia Ann Kloewer, daughter of John and Marie (Schultz) Cunningham, was born January 20, 1934 in Westphalia, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia. She attended school in Westphalia and a short time in Council Bluffs, Iowa through the 12th grade.
On May 18, 1954, Patricia was united in marriage to Norbert “Nubby” Kloewer at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia. They raised their seven children: Kathy, Carol, Jerry, Connie, Tony, Doug and Kristi on the farm. After 30 years on the farm, they moved to Kirkman to start a new chapter in their lives. They started the family business at Nub & Pat’s Beer Barn, until retiring to Harlan in 2007.
Pat loved gardening, sewing, crafts and always enjoyed decorating for the holidays. During retirement years, she and Nub liked going on drives, visiting their kids and grandkids, and DQ was always a treat. She also had many rat terrier dogs and her last one Suzy which she missed dearly when she moved to Elm Crest Retirement in June of 2016. She made some dear friends there and will be missed. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan.
Pat died surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, attaining the age of eighty-four years, two months, and three days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Norbert Kloewer, son Jerry Kloewer, sisters Phyllis Minear and Marilyn Ebert.
She has left to cherish her memory, her children Kathy and her husband Steve Plumb of Harlan, Iowa; Carol and her husband Roger Erb of Harlan; Connie and her husband Larry Knudson of Omaha, Nebraska; Tony Kloewer and his wife Darla of Harlan; Doug Kloewer and his wife Lora of Harlan; Kristi and her husband Tim Davis of Woodbine, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
