Patricia Jean Meseck was born in Denison, Iowa, December 31, 1946, the daughter of Joseph and Bernice Quandt DeConnick. She was received into God’s Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa, March 11, 1947, and confirmed in her Christian Faith there April 15, 1962. She was raised on the farm west of Denison and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1966. On April 1, 1968, Patricia was united in marriage with Allan Meseck at the Zion Lutheran Church Parish Hall in Denison, Iowa. Their union was blessed with three children: Theresa, Tim and Tom. They made their homes on farms in the Charter Oak area moving to Allan’s home place in 1977 where they since resided. Through the years, in addition to being a busy homemaker, farmwife and mother, Patricia was employed at Whip’s Lanes in Ricketts, as a residential aide at Ida Sheltered Industries in Ida Grove, Iowa, as a cashier at Ampride in Denison and lastly at Dollar General in Denison. In her leisure time, Patricia enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing and crocheting, watching movies and cooking shows on television, bowling and playing computer games online. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township and their Lutheran Women Missionary League. Patricia died Monday morning, July 8, 2013, at Alegent Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 66 years, 6 months and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Bernice DeConnick. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband Allan Meseck of Charter Oak, Iowa; daughter Theresa Meseck-Sanchez of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sons: Tim Meseck and fiancé Jennifer of Jefferson, Iowa and Tom and wife Kathy Meseck of Ida Grove, Iowa; 9 grandchildren: Tyler, Cady, Mekai, MaKenzee, Savannah, Miracle, Noah, Madison, and Cassie, 1 great granddaughter Tylli; brothers: Bernie and wife Shannon DeConnick Portland, Oregon, and John and wife Wanda DeConnick of Denison, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Julie Meseck of Omaha, Nebraska, Cynthia and husband Richard Lauritsen of Fremont, Nebraska, Diane and husband Dave Berens of Hastings, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, Iowa, with the Rev. Timothy Frank officiating. Music for the service included the congregational hymns of “How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” with Shirley Stull serving as organist. Honorary pallbearers included Bernie DeConnick, John DeConnick, David Berens, Richard Lauritsen, Tyler Maji, Mekai Sanchez, Philip Wightman and Byron Meseck. Pallbearers were Tim Hennings, Jim Meseck, Wes Cunningham, Josh Cue, Dillon Bengford and John Dorfler. Interment was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, Iowa. Following the services all were invited to join the family for fellowship and lunch provided by Staley’s Food Service and the St. Paul Lutheran Women Missionary League. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home,
