Patsy Ann Nuzum

Patsy Ann Nuzum, daughter of Edward and Lyela Nuzum, was born August 17, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended elementary school in Omaha and Council Bluffs, Iowa for a short time before moving to Earling, Iowa and graduating from Harlan Community High School with the Class of 1986. Following graduation, Patsy received a Geriatric Assistant Certificate from Iowa Community College on May 8, 1987. She also worked for a brief time at Iowa Beef Processors in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Patsy and her partner, Randy Hess, welcomed their daughter, Randi Hess into their life on July 28, 2001 and they made their home in Harlan, Iowa, until most recently living in Avoca. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she was very artistic and loved to draw. Patsy had many hobbies and she loved to go camping, fishing, and swimming.
Patsy died unexpectedly in Harlan, Iowa on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at age 50 years, 3 months, and 6 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lyela Nuzum.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Randi Hess of Avoca, IA; partner of 17 years, Randy Hess of Avoca, IA; sister Julie (Steven) Ross of Aurelia, IA; brothers Ed (Pauline) Nuzum of Storm Lake, IA and Randy Nuzum of Topeka, KS.
