Ramona Jordan Krock was born on the farm in Milford Township, Deloit, Iowa, December 28, 1921, the daughter of Tracy and Grace Lingle Jordan. She was raised there receiving her elementary education in the rural schools before graduating from the Deloit High School with the class of 1939. Following high she attended cosmetology school. Ramona spent most of her adult life in Vail, Iowa, where she owned and operated Ramona’s Beauty Salon for over fifty years. She enjoyed her life in Vail, socializing with her clients and caring for her dogs and cats. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and gardening. She was a long time member of the United Presbyterian Church in Vail, United Presbyterian Women, served as a Deacon and taught Sunday school and was a member of the Deloit American Legion Post 690 Ladies Auxiliary. In June of 2001, Ramona was united in marriage with Walter Krock at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mavis and Alan Johnson in Deloit, Iowa. They made their home on the Krock farm at Deloit. Walter died in August of 2006 and following his death Ramona moved to the Oakwood Apartments in Denison. In March of this year Ramona moved to Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison where her death occurred Thursday, June 3, 2010. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 88 years, 5 months and 5 days. Including her parents and husband, Ramona was also preceded in death by two brothers: Archie and Clifford Jordan; and one sister, Viola Tibbetts. Those remaining to cherish her memory include one step-daughter: Mavis and husband, Alan Johnson of Deloit, Iowa; one step-granddaughter: Wendy and husband, Jeremy Brown of Carroll, Iowa; sister-in-law: Margie Jordan of Denison, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, at the United Presbyterian Church in Vail, Iowa, with the Rev. Kevin J. Freese officiating. Music for the service was provided by soloist, Sandi Agan, singing “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace” with Glenn Rankin serving as organist. Honorary pallbearers were Alan Johnson and Richard Lee Jordan. Those serving as pallbearers included Steve Kremin, Chuck Clausen, Dean Boell, Ray Willson, Jeffrey Jordan and Ryan Jordan. Interment was at the Deloit Cemetery, Deloit, Iowa. Following the interment all were invited to return to the church and join the family in fellowship and a luncheon prepared and served by the United Presbyterian Women.
