Randall “Randy” Lee Musich was born on February 2, 1953 to Raymond and Viola (Weihs) Musich in Harlan, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church where he remained a life-long member. He attended elementary school at St. Michael’s Catholic School and graduated from Harlan Community High School with the Class of 1971.



On August 10, 1973, Randy was united in marriage to Carol Rose Reisz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Portsmouth, Iowa. They became parents to four children: Stacie, Sherry, Sarah, and Nicholas.



Randy began his career with the Harlan Municipal Utilities while still in high school as part-time. After graduation, he began full-time employment in the Electric Department, moving up from Apprentice Lineman, Crew Leader, Foreman, and over forty years later, retiring in November of 2013 as Electric Superintendent.



He enjoyed nature, being outdoors, gardening, hunting for deer and pheasants, and fishing. Several years ago, the family could be found camping at the old well field or at a family cabin in Hackensack, Minnesota. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.



Randy died unexpectedly on Monday, December 8, 2014 having attained the age of sixty-one years, ten months, and six days. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carol.



He is survived by his children: Stacie Baldwin of Des Moines, Iowa, Sherry Musich, Sarah and her husband Carl Martin, and Nicholas Musich all of Harlan, Iowa; four grandchildren: Abi, Logan, Lilli, and Jacob; sisters: Patricia and her husband Roger Thomsen of Harlan, Iowa, Carol and her husband Lee Rasmussen of Omaha, Nebraska, Nancy and her husband Bill Sniffin of Lander, Wyoming, and Tami and her husband Frank Rueschenberg of Westphalia, Iowa; brothers Rodney Musich and Terry Musich and his wife Sharon all of Harlan; other family members and many friends.
