Rebecca Katherine Herning, daughter of Marvin and Joyce (Von Tersch) Will was born on May 13, 1948, while living on a farm east of Irwin. The family moved to Council Bluffs where she attended Holy Family grade school and Thomas Jefferson High School. In 1965 they moved to California where she graduated from Kennedy High School.
In 1966, expecting one child, she was surprised by welcoming her twin daughters, Renee and Alicia. They lived in Orange County, California until returning to Harlan, Iowa in 1986. Where she built, owned and managed Molded Products until retiring in the fall of 2019.
After retiring, Becky had more time to enjoy her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her yard and loved tending to her flowers. She loved cross stitch and making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed planning and cooking a family dinner every week.
She loved watching her grandson Wyatt play football and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harlow, granddaughter Jessica Custer, grandson Cory Custer and brother Scott Will.
She is survived by her daughters Renee (Gary) Murray and Alicia Custer; grandsons Luke (Macie) Ferguson, Dylan Ferguson, and Wyatt Schaben; great-grandchildren Henry and Elowynn Ferguson and “one on the way” Ferguson; sister Betty (Leonard) Powell and brother Doug (Jillian) Will; son in law Mathew Ferguson; stepdaughters Elise Callahan and Helen Herning; step grandchildren Jacob Gonzalez and Elena Gonzalez; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
