Regina Ann Koesters, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Hoehn) Stinn, was born on October 27, 1926 in Earling, Iowa. She was a lifelong member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling. Regina was baptized at St. Joseph’s as well as had her 1st communion and confirmation there. She was also part of the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. Regina attended grade school and high school at St. Joseph’s. She worked in Omaha at Younkers and at Bell Telephone. On November 17, 1954, Regina married Richard A. Koesters in Earling. She then became a stay at home mom.
On Sunday, September 29, 2019, Regina passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, attaining the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 2 days. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard; son Dan Koesters; daughter Lori Koesters; sisters Catherine Gubbels, Helen Langenfeld, and Luelle Rasmussen; and brothers Leonard Stinn, Cletues Stinn, and Frank Stinn. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Dick Koesters and his wife Deb of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Judi Blum and her husband Jeff of Ames, Iowa; Jay Koesters and his special friend Joanne of Tucson, Arizona; and Scot Koesters and his wife Jolie of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Tony Koesters, Dan Blum, Darin Blum, Luke Koesters, Paul Koesters, Haley Koesters, Sarah Gibbons and her husband Steve, Jenna Hesterwerth and her husband Cory, Madeline Koesters, and Jillian Blum; 5 great grandchildren; sister Bernadine Stoltenberg of Omaha, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
