Rita Petsche
April 17, 1943 — May 7, 2010
Rita Mary Petsche, daughter of Ed and Mary (Miller) Noehren, was born on April 17, 1943, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan and graduated from Harlan High School with the class of 1961. After graduation, Rita continued her education at Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska.
In 1971, Rita was united in marriage to Jim Petsche in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two children were born to this union: Jamie and Jill. After their wedding, Rita and Jim made their home in Harlan. In 1998, Rita moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to her daughter, Jill.
Rita died on Friday, May 7, 2010, at Maple Crest Care Center in Omaha, Nebraska, having attained the age of sixty-seven years and twenty days. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son Jamie Petsche of Harlan, Iowa; her daughter Jill and her husband Justin Green of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Joshua, Jaden, and Jandi; other family members and many friends.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Rev. Bob Hoefler of St. Michael’s Catholic Church officiating the 11:00 AM service. Inurnment was held at the Harlan Cemetery.
