Robert Irvin Hundt
Robert Irvin Hundt was born in Avoca, Iowa to Irvin Carl and Orleane (Blakely) Hundt on March 30, 1940. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland, Iowa. He attended Shelby school and was a member of the Class of 1959.
He married Karen Danker at the United Church of Christ in Minden, Iowa on March 9, 1963. They were blessed with four children: Jeff, Doug, Kaylee and Brad.
After high school Bob worked for Peoples Natural Gas in Council Bluffs. In 1969 Bob and Karen moved to a farm south of Minden, later they moved to the Hundt family farm. He also owned and operated Hundt Appliance and Heating where he continued to work up until his passing.
Bob enjoyed farming, spending time with family and friends.
Bob died on Monday, December 14, 2015 at CHI Health in Omaha, Nebraska. He had attained the age of seventy five years, eight months and four days. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Orleane and step mother Ella.
Bob’s survivors include his wife Karen (Danker) Hundt of Avoca, IA; children: Jeff and Karla Hundt of Harlan, IA; Doug and Sandy Hundt of Pella, IA; Kaylee and Darren Goshorn of Harlan, IA; Brad Hundt and Jessica Pohlman of Minden, IA; grandchildren: Reid Hundt and Fiancé Shelby Stotts of Des Moines, IA; Emily Hundt of West Des Moines, IA; Drew Hundt, Ashley Hundt, Trevor Hundt of Pella, IA; Mackenzie Goshorn, Blake Goshorn, Cael Goshorn, Camryn Goshorn, Carleigh Goshorn of Harlan, IA; Brooklyn Hundt and Trenton Hundt of Minden, IA; special friends Zach and Paige Pohlman; special grandchild of our hearts Derek Nelson; sisters: Lorraine (Richard) Norman of Gretna, NE; Shirley (Varel) Holaday of Atlantic, IA; Judith (Dale) McPheeters of Omaha, NE; his loyal dog Jake; nephews, nieces, and many friends.
