Rodney “Rod” Dean Soll was born April 6, 1967 to Robert and Darlene (Rudolph) Soll in Audubon, Iowa. He attended school in Elk Horn, Iowa until he was in the sixth grade when his family moved to Audubon where he graduated with the class of 1986.
Rod was united in marriage with Julie Jensen on May 29, 1993 at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. They became the parents of two children, Jacob and Ariea. Rod was self-employed as a carpenter, owning Soll Construction.
He loved being outdoors; hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. But most of all he loved his family and was often known as the favorite uncle. He was very devoted to his wife and children, he enjoyed spending time with them. Rod was very caring and outgoing, he would do anything for anyone.
Rod died at the Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa on July 20, 2016 at the age of forty-nine years, three months and fourteen days. He was preceded in death by his brother Mark Soll; nephew Kristopher George Crawley and cousin Michael Dunlop.
He is survived by his wife Julie Soll of Kimballton, Iowa; children Jacob and Ariea Soll of Kimballton; his parents Robert and Darlene Soll of Audubon; sisters Julie and her husband Mark Wilson of Audubon; Jodi Soll of Audubon; brother Rick Soll and his wife Jennifer of Sac City, Iowa; his honorary son, Michael Rudolph of Audubon; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
