Roger Keith Thompson 79, died in his sleep the morning of April 17, 2016 in Texas. He was a loving husband to his wife Julie, father to his daughters; Sonia and Lori all of Spring TX.
Roger was born on February 9, 1937 near Lake Mills, Iowa to Melvin O. and Olga (Vermedahl) Thompson.
From mid-1955 until mid-1957 Roger served during peace time in the United.States Army.
He attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls Iowa and competed his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business..
Roger was employed with the Good Samaritan Nursing Homes in a variety of towns and states. He enjoyed participating in the Chamber of Commerce activities and with the local churches. He was proud of his Norwegian ancestry and was also proud to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Roger had retired from being a teacher and a nursing home administrator in 1999 when he moved to Texas to live near his family. He loved life and helping others.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Marlin.
Roger is survived by his wife Julie, daughters Sonia Shepherd, and Lori (Michael) Hritz - all of Texas; Brother Don of Ohio; two sisters Ardis of Nevada and Darlene of Minnesota; plus many other family members and friends.
