Ron Raymond Pash, Norton to those close to him, was born on October 7, 1955 to Olie and Crystal (Petersen) Pash in Harlan, Iowa. He attended elementary school in Harlan and graduated from Harlan High School with the Class of 1974. Ron attended Ryder Tech Institute mechanical school for two years.
Ron was married to Lea Blackwell and had two children: Daniel and April. Ron began his twenty-five year career as a motorcycle mechanic and small engine repairman at Lawn and Leisure Centre and opened his own shop in 1986 on Cyclone Avenue as Lawn and Leisure Repair. It was at this time that Ron developed his highly regarded ability to Nortonize any engine that came into his shop. Rons abilities to fix anything gained him a reputation that brought clients from all over the Midwest.
It was known that Ron never met a stranger and every repair job always included a joke or story or a lesson on how to take proper care of your machine.
Countless road trips were taken by Ron and his friends and every trip included at least one repair made by Ron on the side of the road or in a parking lot for a friend or stranger.
Ron was forced into semi-retirement in 1999 as a result of an automobile accident in Mexico which made it difficult to perform as a mechanic.
He loved animals and every aspect of nature and loved to go mushroom hunting in the spring.
Ron died at his home on Sunday, March 3, 2013, having attained the age of fifty-seven years, four months, and twenty-four days.
