Ronald Book

Ronald Joseph Book was born February 13, 1944, in Harlan, Iowa, the son of Joe Bogler and Margaret Book. He received his education at the Harlan Community Schools and graduated from Harlan Community High School. After his schooling, he worked at different jobs until he was employed at Western Iowa Pork in Harlan and worked there for 25 years.
In Ron’s younger years he enjoyed bowling and was on leagues in both Harlan and Denison. He liked going to the horse and dog races and also the casinos. He was an avid Elvis Presley fan and actually went to one of his concerts in Omaha.
Ron met the love of his life, Marge Brown, while playing Bingo and they spent several years together. They passed many hours watching baseball games, his favorite team being the Cubs, and also were on bowling leagues together.
Ron died February 9, 2018 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, attaining the age of 73 years, 11 months and 27 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Book; grandparents, Arthur and Lena Book; aunts, Mildred Smart and Leona Book; and uncles: Harold Fritz, Edmund Book and Alfred Book.
Survivors include girlfriend, Marge Brown; aunts: Marilyn Fritz, Dorothy Book and Alma Book; cousins: Mary (Jerry) Schultes, Teresa (Jack) Huffstutler, Linda (John) Urbanski, Cheryl (Don) Kohl, Wayne Smart, Judy Coderre, Sonny Book and Larry (Gale) Book.
