California after the start of WWII where his father worked building ships. After the war the family moved back to Iowa and operated a photo and print shop. He was really proud and had great memories of his Purple Gang Drag Racing Team. He was also involved in sprint car, boat and dirt bike racing.
In 2013 Ronnie bought an acreage near Avoca and settled down with his two dogs that came with the property. This was perfect for him because he had been a dog lover all of his life. He still talked about his favorite dog Indie.

February 20, 2016 having attained the age of seventy six years, one month and sixteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents.
