Sandra Lou Page Carlson, daughter of William L. and Elaine M. (Olson) Page, was born February 13, 1952, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sandy was baptized March 2, 1952, at St. John's Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. She attended Harlan Community Schools and in 1988, Sandy started taking classes and earned her GED.
Throughout her adult life, Sandy lived in several places such as Deloit, Denison, Spirit Lake, Storm Lake, and Harlan, all in Iowa. Spirit Lake was her favorite. She loved to go fishing and was known for going out for the day and coming home with a 5-gallon bucket full of fish. In the later years, she still loved to go fishing, but her declining health made it difficult. Instead, she found enjoyment by playing dominoes and dice, and computer solitaire was a daily favorite. If music was playing, you can bet it was Classic Country or her favorite, Reba McEntire.
Survivors include her children, Jodie (Myron) Goodwin of Linn Grove, IA; James Schumacher of Harlan, IA; Toby Schumacher of Alta, IA; and Bill Schumacher of Rockwell City, IA; Grandchildren Rebekka (Nathan) Robey, Brady, Cody, and Cory Goodwin; Haley, Austin, and Zander Schumacher; Lorelei and Aidan Schumacher; Dalton and Preston Schumacher.
Sandy is also survived by her siblings, William (Kathy) Page, Buckeye, AZ; and Keith (Natalie) Page, Alta, IA; her life partner of 30 years, Leonard Pauley; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elaine Page; her sister, Debra Page; her brothers Larry Page, and (infant brother) Ricky Page; stepsister, Roxann Oliver; and stepbrother, Ezra "Butch" Study.
