Scott J. Schramm

Scott Jeffrey Schramm was born at Crawford County Memorial Hospital on April 12, 1961 to Walter Edward and Shirley Ann (Ehrichs) Schramm. He was baptized in Faith on May 3, 1961 and confirmed on April 4, 1982, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He attended Sunday School as a child for Sunday Bible Class and Fellowship Club as an adult. Scott attended Special Education Trainable class though Denison Community School and received a certificate of recognition on May 22, 1980. He worked at WESCO starting in 1979 and worked there for 38 years. Scott worked most of the years in the wood shop.
Scott lived with his parents until his father passed away in 1994 and then he continued to live with his mother until 2005. After his mother’s death, he moved in and lived with his brother Rick and his wife Theresa until his death.
Scott liked music, collecting small cars, John Deere, bowling, dancing with his friends at WESCO, and fishing with his dad. He liked playing Bingo and Uno. Scott also liked to watch sports on TV like basketball, football, and car racing. He was an Iowa State fan as well as a Nebraska fan. Scott participated in the Special Olympics through WESCO in track and field (softball throw and the 50-meter walk) and also Special Olympic bowling. Scott enjoyed eating pizza, drinking beer and mountain dew, and he enjoyed his deserts. He enjoyed going camping with Rick, Theresa, Ione and Bob Hinners, Justin, Lori, Blake, Logan, Kylee, and Lauren, as well as playing pool and going to the dog races. Scott Also enjoyed staying with his sister Becky and her husband Mike in Omaha.
Scott passed away at 12:35 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison at the age of 57. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Shirley. Scott is survived by his brothers, Rick Schramm and his wife Theresa of Denison, IA, and Kim Schramm and his wife Ronda of Logan, IA; his sister, Becky Finn and her husband Mike of Omaha, NE; aunt, Dorothy Kusel of Manning, IA; aunt Sandra and uncle Curtis Stender of Denison, IA; nieces, Heather, Bethany, Cami, and Erin; nephew, Justin; and a host of relatives and friends.
