*In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Shawn’s honor. A memorial account has been set up at Shelby County State Bank in Harlan, Iowa. Funds donated to this account will be distributed to two memorials. The first will be to Friends of Prairie Rose to create a kayak launch at Prairie Rose State Park. The second memorial will be used for Iowa DOT Road Maintenance Accident Crisis Awareness. DOT Road Maintenance Crew Members are often first responders at vehicle accidents providing assistance and first aid to crash victims until emergency responders arrive. These accident scenes can have a lasting emotional effect on the DOT Road Maintenance Crew Members, and we hope to assist in making the needed training and emotional support available to these everyday heroes. Checks can be made out to Shawn Havick Memorial Fund. Funds may also be donated via Venmo @ShawnHavickMemorial-Fund.
