Sherry Ann Sandbothe was born on October 31, 1964, the daughter of Kenneth Allan and Judith Ann (Brown) Nielsen in Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Walnut, Iowa. Sherry grew up in Walnut and graduated from Walnut High School with the class of 1983.

Sherry married Randy Sandbothe in 1985 and they later divorced. To this union two children were born: Eric and Jennifer. Sherry met Keith Chase in 2005 in Red Oak, Iowa, and they have been together ever since.

Sherry enjoyed her job as an Office Administrator for Matheson Tri Gas Company in Red Oak. She lived in Red Oak for thirteen years. Prior to moving to Red Oak, she lived in Walnut and worked as an Office Administrator for Linweld in Atlantic, Iowa, before its name changed to Matheson Tri Gas.

In Sherry’s spare time she enjoyed cooking and being outside relishing nature. She was a big NASCAR fan of Jeff Gordon and loved watching him race. Sherry was known to put her family first and being well known and liked-no one was a stranger. She was quick to laugh and will be remembered for wearing a huge pink hat to family functions, Walnut Antique Walk, and other events.

Sherry died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Montgomery Memorial County Hospital in Red Oak, having attained the age of fifty-two years, eight months, and nine days. She is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer and mother Judith. She is survived by her significant other Keith Chase of Red Oak; son Eric Sandbothe of Walnut; four grandchildren; father Kenneth Nielsen of Walnut; brother Jeff Nielsen of Walnut; other family; and many friends.
