Stacy Robert Chapman, son of Harold and Elaine (Namanny) Chapman, was born on August 4, 1967 in Denison, Iowa. He was raised on the Chapman Dairy Farm in rural Arion and attended school in Denison graduating from Denison Community High School with the Class of 1985.
After high school, Stacy went on to attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa where he studied Dairy Science. After graduation from ISU, Stacy worked in Wisconsin at Richland Center where he was certified in Artificial Insemination. He later returned to the family farm where he excelled as a cow herdsman while working with his dad and brother Scott. Together they expanded from a thirty to forty head farm to over a hundred head of dairy cattle. Stacy served on the Crawford County Iowa State Extension Board.
Dairy Cattle were Stacy’s passion but he also loved sports. The Iowa State Cyclones and the Minnesota Twins Baseball were the teams he followed religiously. He also loved to read and never had enough books. Stacy will be remembered for his wicked but wonderful sense of humor that he used to tease people and make them laugh.
Stacy died on April 2, 2021 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa where he attained the age of fifty-three years, seven months and twenty-nine days. He was preceded in death by his brother Scott Chapman. He was able to help others even after his death as an organ and tissue donor.
Stacy is survived by his parents Elaine and Harold Chapman of Arion, Iowa; brothers Bill (Cheryl Fluke) Chapman of Durant, Iowa and Tim Chapman of Des Moines, Iowa; his sister-in-law Gayle Chapman of Denison; nephews Josh and Nick Chapman of St. Joseph, Missouri and niece Maggie Chapman of Denison; other relatives and many friends.
