Stephen (Steve) Maynard Marshall Sr. the adopted and only child of Irvin and Irma (Snyder) Marshall was born on April 27, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa.
Steve attended Sioux City East High School and graduated with the class of 1964. After graduating high school Stephen attended Iowa State University.
On January 11, 1972 Steve married the love of his life, who came all the way from Germany, Irmtraud (Dobben) Marshall, in Pipestone, Minnesota. To this union were born three children; Stephen Jr., Derek, and Katja,.
Steve had many jobs, he was a Kirby Vacuum salesman, and after settling down he opened the Vac Shop in Denison, Iowa, but what Steve was best known for was working as a paper distributor for the Sioux City Journal and Omaha World Herald from 1982 to 2017, where he never missed a day.
When he was younger he enjoyed coaching flag football, the Chiefs, and soccer for his children. He was known to most of the young men as Coach Marshall. Steve enjoyed fishing and watching his two favorite football teams, Iowa State Cyclones, and Green Bay Packers, not only did he enjoy watching his favorite teams, he also enjoyed placing a friendly wager from time to time during football season. He also enjoyed playing simulated computer games. Following retirement Steve resided in St. Joseph Villa in Omaha, Nebraska.
Steve passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska attaining the age of 76 years 4 months, and 14 days.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Irma Marshall and his wife Irmtraud who passed away in 2013.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Stephen Jr. (Jami) Marshall of La Vista, Nebraska; Derek Marshall of Ralston, Nebraska; Katja Marshall of Arthur, Iowa; and adopted son (possibly the favorite son) Matt Harrison, of Carroll, Iowa; grandchildren Gavin, Sasha, Taylor, Kacie, Lia, Jayden, Kiera, Lilli, Quinn, and Owen; great grandchildren Kage and Raevyn; many other relatives and friends.
