Steven Beckman

Steven Bradley Beckman, 57, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on October 2, 2018. He was born to Doug and Jeanette Beckman in Brookings, South Dakota, on May 1, 1961. He graduated from Glenwood Community High School in 1979, and attended Iowa State University. Steve married Paula Lynn Nickles on August 15, 1992, in Glenwood. They were blessed with two sons, Joshua Vernon in 1997 and Caleb Paul in 2002. The family resided in Boone. He worked for Central Iowa Building Systems, a Nevada, Iowa construction company, for more than 26 years. Steve was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was a dedicated father, husband, and friend. Steve is preceded in death by his son, Caleb, and mother, Jeanette. Surviving are his wife, Paula, and son, Joshua, of Boone, Iowa; father, Doug, of Glenwood, Iowa; sisters, Sherry Ford of Glenwood, Iowa, and Kristi (Bill) Norgaard of Anthem, Arizona; three nieces and one nephew; father- and mother-in-law, Don and Ginny Nickles, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to support Joshua’s higher education. Visitation with the family will take place at the Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.
