Steven J. Bladt

Steven James Bladt was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on April 23, 1950. He was the eldest son of Donald and Pauline Bladt. Steve attended Shelby-Tennant High School and graduated with the class of 1969. He went on to Iowa Western Community College for mechanics. After college he went to work for John Deere in Avoca. He then worked for Wise Farms, was a gas station attendant and worked as a factory worker.

Steve married Peggy Pritchard on July 23, 1977 at the First Presbyterian Church in Neola, Iowa. Together they raised four children. He enjoyed attending races, all things John Deere, and had a large collection of John Deere memorabilia.

Steven passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of seventy years, two months and twenty-one days. He was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles; one aunt; two cousins; two nephews; and two great-nephews.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Bladt of Shelby, Iowa; his four children Darren (Lesley Wacker) Bladt of West Des Moines, Iowa; Keith (Shannon) Bladt of Nodaway, Iowa; Kyle (Amanda Miller) Bladt of Lincoln, Nebraska; Rebecca Bladt of Corning, Iowa; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings Danny (Leona) Bladt of Shelby, Iowa; Lori Bladt of Shelby, Iowa; David (Deb) Bladt of Shelby, Iowa; Larry (Collette) Bladt of Shelby, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
