Susan Michelle Schnack

Susan Michelle Schnack, daughter of Darrell and Agnes (Muell) Larsen, was born March 21, 1952 in Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, where she attended grade school. She graduated from Harlan High School with the class of 1971.
After high school, Susan went to work in Omaha at Vickers Hydraulics and Airlight Plastics. She became a mother to three sons Todd, Jason, and Shawn from her first marriage. She was always a hard working mom while raising her boys. Later, she took a job at Insulate now Conductix - Wampler where she reunited an old friendship with Kenny Schnack.
Susan was united in marriage to Kenny Schnack on June 30, 2000 at their home in Harlan, Iowa. When Susan’s mother became ill, she decided to care for her in her home for over six years.
Susan loved being with her family and attending family functions. Traveling, cooking and baking were her passion. She also enjoyed spending time with Kenny trucking and fishing. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, always looking for a good bargain.
Susan died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, attaining the age of sixty-six years, five months and fourteen days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Michael Larsen, grandson Jaden Koch, sister-in-law Joyce Larsen, and nephew Benji Larsen.
She has left to cherish her memory her husband Kenny Schnack of Harlan, Iowa; sons Todd Koch and his wife Jenna of Harlan; Jason Koch and his wife Terra of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Shawn Koch and his wife Heather of Council Bluffs, Iowa; stepson Lonnie Schnack and his wife Michelle of Muscatine, Iowa; siblings Bill Larsen and his wife Janet of Brandon, South Dakota; Jim Larsen and his wife Joanne of Ankeny, Iowa; Jack Larsen and his wife Pat of Council Bluffs; Julia and her husband Randy Schmitz of Bettendorf, Iowa; Sharon and her husband Dave Lush of Omaha, Nebraska; Jane and her husband Jack Waner of Omaha; sisters-in-law Cathy and her husband Blaine Hansen of Atlantic, Iowa; Marie and her husband Dan McLandsborough of Logan, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
