Suzanne Helene Tietsort
February 12, 1950 — June 6, 2024
Suzanne Helene Tietsort was born to Richard and Virginia (Wilson) Heisner on February 12, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha where she attended Highland Grade School from kindergarten until 8th grade and eventually attended South High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
At the age of 16, Sue was married and to the union she had her son, Francis “Steve” Caha when she was 17. Sue was a waitress for over 20 years, a manager at Martinizing for 14 years, and worked at Oriental Trading for 10 years.
Sue met the love of her life, Lyle Tietsort, on July 4, 2018. They were united in marriage on July 13, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Irwin, Iowa. Lyle made Sue so happy and she loved him greatly. Sue enjoyed going to the casino, looking at butterflies, putting puzzles together, attending the dirt track races in Harlan. She also loved the color blue and especially loved her new baby blue Ford Bronco.
Sue passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on June 6, 2024 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa attaining the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 25 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Virginia Heisner.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Tietsort of Irwin, IA; her son, Steve Caha of Council Bluffs, IA, his children, Stephine (April) Bowen and Stephen Caha; Lyle’s children, David Tietsort of Irwin, IA,Janet (Robin) Ladehoff of Defiance, IA, Janice (Eric) Calhoon of Manning, IA, Darian (Heidi) Tietsort of Council Bluffs, IA; Lyle’s 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alfred (Carmen) Heisner of Omaha, NE, Judy Pettersen of Lincoln, NE, Nancy (Gerald) Dudley of Blair, NE, Merri Ausherman of Bellevue, NE, Joseph (Shelby) Keas of Blair, NE; other relatives and many friends.
