Terry Lee Hulsebus was born on July 6, 1951 to Gerald and Mary (Miller) Hulsebus in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized in Dow City Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buck Grove, Iowa in 1964. He attended school in Denison and graduated with the Class of 1969 from Denison High School.



On June 24, 1972, Terry was united in marriage to Joan Gaul at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa. They had four daughters born to them: Jennifer, Sherry, Joey, and Shelly.



Terry was an electrician who was able to fix about anything he worked on. He often told stories about his many adventures in various packing plants. He currently worked at Shelby County Cookers in Harlan where he enjoyed his co-workers and made friends.



In his younger years, Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing but was most known for his love of the Chicago Cubs. He was usually sporting a Cubs hat or that bright blue jacket and he could be found watching the game and having a few beers.



Terry loved his play time with his grandchildren because they brought him pure joy. He was known by his friends and family as a good guy with a big heart.



Terry died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of sixty-two years and ten months. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry.



He is survived by his children: Jennifer and her husband Kelly Lefeber of Harlan, Iowa, Sherry and her husband Peter McGrath of Ashburn, Virginia, Joey and her husband Brian Lasher of Harlan, Iowa, and Shelly Hulsebus of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren; his parents Gerald and Mary Hulsebus of Denison, Iowa; sister Janet Miller of Harlan, Iowa, brother Ernie Hulsebus of Denison, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
