Terry Morris

Terrence Raymond Morris was born on March 7, 1953, to Wendell and Phyllis (Buckley) Morris in Harlan, Iowa. He was confirmed and baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Terry attended grade school at St. Michael's Catholic School and later graduated from Harlan High School in 1971. After graduation, he attended Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Ankeny, Iowa.
Terry found the love of his life when he met Susan Mae Holt. They were united in marriage on December 15, 1973, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa. In this union, two children were born: Stephanie and Andrew.
After attending college at DMACC, Terry worked for Orv Roecker Ford and Johnson Motors as his introduction to the automotive industry. From there, he went on to work for Orv Roecker Diesel, which began his diesel repair legacy. Terry then opened his own diesel shop, Morris Truck Repair. After this endeavor, he worked as a diesel mechanic at Western Engineering and Sta-bilt Construction. Terry ended his legacy at Wings Repair and Towing.
Terry's hobbies included spending time with his children, making hours-long phone calls about the weather, watching Ice Road Truckers and Battle Bots, and playing 21 or Rummy with his grandchildren while eating chunks of cheddar cheese and mustard.
Terry passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 4 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Phyllis Morris.
He is survived by his wife Sue Morris of Harlan, IA; daughter Stephanie Anastasi (Bryan Berndt) of Avoca, IA; son Andrew Morris of Harlan, IA;grandchildren Jaden (Jacob) Kapustka, Alex Anastasi, Emma Struck, Jakob Morris, Brooklyn Buck, Keegan Dille, and Preston Morris; great grandchild Emmerson Kapustka; sister Peggy Moldoff (Barry) of Punta Gorda, FL; nieces and nephews.
