Thomas William “Tommy” Fletcher was born on December 3, 1985 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Scott and Dawn Rubek Fletcher. Tommy was home schooled and received his GED in 2016.
Tommy worked in the construction industry as a laborer. He had a passion for gardening and yard work. He enjoyed cooking, music and was an artist in many forms. Tommy loved animals and had a heart of gold. Recently he had become interested in farming with Josh and was very interested in the machinery and planting techniques.
Tommy spent some time incarcerated at the Douglas County and Sarpy County Nebraska Jails. While in jail, he read his Bible and his heart softened. Following his release from jail, he spent the last two months living with his parents in Irwin, Iowa, where he was happy. Though plagued with demons during his life, Tommy found peace in death through Jesus Christ.
Tommy died on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home in Irwin having attained the age of thirty one years, five months and fifteen days. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Audrey “Nanny” McBrayer, and grandmother Millie Fletcher.
Tommy is survived by his significant other Jennifer Lim of the Philippines; parents, Scott and Dawn Fletcher of Irwin; sister Alicia Fletcher and her significant other, Josh Steenhusen; maternal grandmother Sandra Zielinski and her significant other Jack of Omaha; paternal grandmother Virginia Fletcher of Omaha; paternal grandfather Terry Fletcher and his wife Joann of Branson, Missouri; other family members and friends.
