Thomas Edward True, son of Warren and Joyce (Schuning) True, was born on September 20, 1951, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended grade school and high school in Avoca, Iowa. On December 1, 1989, Tom was united in marriage to Cheryl Alderson in Walnut, Iowa.
Tom owned and operated his own trucking company and for the last 20 years he drove truck for Walmart and was recognized for accident free driving. He enjoyed gardening, antiquing with his wife, spending time with his kitties, and being around his grandkids and family. He absolutely loved getting to spend time with his church family. Tom was a proud Vietnam War Veteran and was hoping to be the oldest Vietnam war veteran, however God had other plans and needed his positive attitude and bright blue eyes in Heaven with Him. He was a volunteer in the honor guard for many veteran funerals in the area.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, Tom passed away unexpectedly at his home, having attained the age of 73 years and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren (Jack) and Joyce; sister Kathy Jacobsen and nephew Michael Jacobsen.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Cheryl True of Walnut, Iowa; children Brian Swallow of Walnut, Iowa; Angela Schueman of Omaha, Nebraska; Jacquelyn True of Denver, Colorado; Joshua (Traci) True of Shelby, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Hannah Swallow, Sydney Schueman and Jack Schueman all of Omaha, Nebraska; niece Shela Jacobsen of Avoca, Iowa; other family and many friends.
