Tiffany Marie Rickers

Tiffany Marie Rickers, 52, of Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24,
2023 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. She was warmly received in heaven by her mother and father and many loving family members. Tiffany was born on Christmas Day in 1970 to Roger Alan (1978) and Joanne (Kloewer) (2009). She is survived by her brothers Trew and Tyler Rickers as well as the love of her life, boyfriend John. She also leaves behind her Aunt and guardian Linda Pederson, several aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tiffany was a beacon of love to all that knew her. Her laughter and hugs were truly magical. She was an artist, a dancer, a teacher, and an Olympian. She won a gold medal in the ice-skating competition at the 1985 International Special Olympics in Park City, Utah. As part of Very Special Arts (VSA) of Iowa, Tiffany performed on many stages including over a decade of dancing at the Iowa State Fair. She received her education in Des Moines and graduated from Hoover High School. Tiffany volunteered at Stowe Elementary School and Link Associates for many years. She lived with her mother until 2009, and then moved into the care of Link Associates where she worked and became close friends with her roommate Melissa. Tiffany moved to Wesley Acres Health Center Des Moines in 2019. We are eternally grateful to Link Associates, Wesley Acres Health Care, and Wesley Acres Hospice Care for the care provided to Tiffany over the years. A memorial service will be held March 10, 2023, in Harlan, Iowa with a celebration of life party on March 11th in Des Moines, IA.
