Vera Leona Schuning

Vera Leona Schuning, daughter of James and Eva Leona (Freads) Osbahr, was born April 29, 1915 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
On June 6 1945, Vera was united in marriage to Elmer Fred Schuning in Minden, Iowa. Three children were born to this union: Renee, Ronnie and Rita. She was a stay-at-home mom, who loved to cook and bake, which she was very well known for her sugar cookies. She enjoyed planting a garden and growing beautiful flowers. She loved to read, watch soap operas and work on crossword puzzles. She especially loved her cats.
Vera passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, attaining the age of one hundred two years, eight months, and fifteen days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Schuning and brother Kenneth Osbahr.
She has left to cherish her memory, her children Renee Sowers of Avoca, Iowa; Ronnie Schuning of Avoca, Iowa; Rita and her husband Bob Koraleski of Papillion, Nebraska; grandson Drew Ayers of Omaha, Nebraska; other family members and friends.
