Viola Clara Musich, "Vi", was born on July 12, 1919 near Panama, Iowa to Frank and Kunigunda (Engel) Weihs. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary Our Lady of the Assumption in Panama. She attended country school through the eighth grade.
On August 13, 1940, she was united in marriage to Raymond G. Musich at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Panama. The couple had seven children: Patricia, Carol, Nancy, Randy, Rodney, Terry, and Tami.
Vi worked at the Super Valu bakery, cleaned homes, and worked for Pauley Jones Funeral Home. She was a good cook and baker and enjoyed embroidery, gardening, and playing cards. She was an avid watcher of Fox News and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vi was an active member of St. Michael�s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa, serving on St. Anne�s Guild and participating in many other church activities.
She was admitted to Myrtue Medical Center where she died on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, having attained the age of ninety-one years, eleven months, and two days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Stephanie Thomsen, brothers and sisters: Clarence, Annabel, Lawrence, Alma, Marie, Florence, Franklin, and Alfred; and son-in-law Robert Kloewer.
She is survived by her children: Patricia and her husband Roger Thomsen of Harlan, Iowa, Carol and her husband Lee Rasmussen of Omaha, Nebraska, Nancy and her husband Bill Sniffin of Lander, Wyoming, Randy Musich and his wife Carol, Rodney Musich, Terry Musich and his wife Sharon all of Harlan, and Tami and her husband Frank Rueschenberg of Westphalia, Iowa; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; sister Helen Musich of Westphalia; sisters-in-law Mildred Weihs and Helen Petsche; other family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM by Rev. John Frost at St. Michael�s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Serving as casket bearers were Darren Thomsen, David Thomsen, Nicholas Musich, Marcus Rueschenberg, Corey Kloewer, Michael Sniffin, and Jody Kloewer. Interment was held at the Harlan Cemetery.
