Wayne Leroy Randolph
September 4, 1946 — December 28, 2022
Wayne Leroy "Stormy" Randolph was born on September 4, 1946, to Glenn E and Margaret L (Young) Randolph. He attended Elementary School in Riverton, IA. After graduating from Farragut High School in 1964, he attended business school in Omaha, NE. He would later go on to join the Nebraska National Guard in 1966.
Stormy married Beverly "Kay" Campbell August 1, 1969. They had 3 children: Kimberly, Nicolas, and Ashley. Stormy and Kay started their life in Belton, MO and moved to Harlan, IA in 1971, where they have lived since.
Stormy spent a few years in the auto parts industry, though most of his career was spent following in his dad's footsteps as a truck driver. He most recently was with Panama Transfer and made many friends there.
He and Kay enjoyed remodeling their home and always had a project to work on. He really loved spending time in his workshop, most recently creating Christmas gifts for his kids and grandkids. These will be cherished for years to come. Other hobbies included visiting old trains and collecting model train sets, always having one under the Christmas tree. Stormy had been adding to his collection of salt and pepper shakers for the last 20 years. He and Kay would often attend auctions and garage sales hunting for more treasures and collected more than 400 sets.
Wayne passed away on December 28, 2022 at Myrtue Medical Center attaining the age of 76 years, 3 months and 24 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Margaret Randolph and sister Betty Whitehead. He is survived by his wife Kay Randolph of Harlan, IA; children Kim (Christiaan) Nielsen of Ankeny, IA; Nick Randolph of Ankeny, IA; Ashley Kunz of West Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Kellen Nielsen, Alaina Kunz, and Malia Kunz.
