Wendy Rae Waldemar was born in Denison, Iowa, April 26, 1978, the daughter of Larry and Sandra Bowman Waldemar. She was raised on the Waldemar family farm at Deloit, Iowa, and received her education in the Denison Public Schools from which she graduated in 1996. She furthered her education at Western Iowa Tech taking Data Processing training. On December 3, 1999, Wendy and Craig Streck were united in a Commitment Ceremony at the First United Methodist Church, Denison, Iowa. They spent their united lives in Denison caring for each other. Wendy was an accomplished pianist in earlier years and her passion of playing the piano often consumed three to four hours of her time each day. She enjoyed sharing her talent often playing for area nursing homes, Denison McHenry House and the First Baptist Church in Kiron. In her leisure time Wendy enjoyed walking, latch hook, working word finds, and was happiest when she could spend time with her family. Some other favorites included teasing and joking with family and friends and dining out. Wendy was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Kiron, Iowa, and after she and Craig were united they became members of the United Methodist in Denison. Wendy died Saturday morning, December 12, 2015, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison, Iowa. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 37 years, 7 months and 16 days. Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Larry Waldemar.Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband, Craig Streck of Denison, Iowa, her mother, Sandra Waldemar of Denison, Iowa, three siblings: Bradley (Kim) Waldemar of Deloit, Iowa, Lorie (Rev. Stephen) Fahs of Lakeland, Minnesota, and Todd (Carla) Waldemar of Suffolk, Virginia; 18 nieces and nephews; uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, Kiron, Iowa, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Officiating the services were Pastor Bruce Kaihoi, Rev. Steve Fahs, and Rev. Jan Burnett. Music for the service included Lily Fahs playing the prelude on the harp, congregational hymns of “Great Is They Faithfulness”, “Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus”, and “He Keeps Me Singing” with Mrs. John W. Larson serving as pianist. Pallbearers were Bradley and Kim Waldemar, Lorie and Rev. Steve Fahs, and Todd and Carla Waldemar. Immediately following services everyone was invited to remain at the church for fellowship and a meal provided and served by Staley’s Catering and the First Baptist Social Committee. Private family graveside services and interment were held Saturday afternoon at the Kiron Cemetery, Kiron, Iowa. Pfannebecker Funeral Home,
